The Arena is a special game mode where players are given randomly selected cards with which to build a deck and compete inside the arena. Every time a player wants to participate in the arena it costs the player either 150 gold or they have to pay real money about 2 dollars American. The unique aspect of the Arena is that there is no card limit t how many of the same card you can have if it is available to put in your deck.

Getting started

Once a player has paid the toll to get into the Arena they are given a random draw of three classes to choose from. After choosing their hero they are given a random selection of cards with which to construct a deck and compete. Players are not restricted to a maximum of 2 cards of the same kind in the Arena. Players can construct decks around a specific strategy if the cards they are given fit into that kind of strategy however the random aspect of the cards is what makes Arena so unique.

Playing Arena

Once you enter the Arena you are paired against other Arena players based upon your win/loss record during your current streak. The goal of the player is to achieve 12 wins in the Arena however if a player suffers 3 losses they are kicked out of the Arena and will have to sign up again to do another run of it.

Claiming rewards

After either winning 12 games or being kicked out by losing 3 the player will be given rewards based upon their success. Rewards include card packs, more gold, some arcane dust and even sometimes individual Expert level cards to boost their decks.

Reward structure

Players are awarded keys based upon their success inside of the Arena and the better the key the better the rewards. Some keys are guaranteed to give you certain loot such as gold and arcane dust. Every key also gives players one card pack in which they can open and hopefully get some more rare cards to beef up their deck.

Notes

Players that participate in the Arena are guaranteed one card pack for entering and since card packs cost 400 gold you only really risk 50 extra gold for a chance to win many many more card packs.

Strategy

The way Arena is structured with no card limitations allow for huge varieties of strategies. Players can focus on drafting cards based upon their hero class etc. Arena is a very fun and unique experience and will test the strategic mind of every player that participates. The randomness factor to the Arena adds to the charm because Hearthstone Arena is like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get.
